Solid organ transplant patients who are at least six months post transplant are invited to participate in a NIH-funded research study investigating non-pharmacological approaches to improve the health and well being of persons living with an organ transplant. The study will compare Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) to Living a Healthy Life (LHL). MBSR is an 8-week program that teaches people simple yoga and mindfulness meditation. LHL is an 8-week program where participants learn self-management strategies from peer leaders with similar chronic health conditions. There will be no charge to participants for course materials. For more information call our study coordinator, Val Russas, at (612) 624-6115 or e-mail russa001@umn.edu.
