The Twin Cities offers a regional network of parks supported by cities, counties, the state of Minnesota, and our regional government, the Metropolitan Council. The Twin Cities has two city centers in Minneapolis and St. Paul with a variety of stores and dining. The Twin Cities is also home to the Mall of America and several regional suburban shopping centers.

Dining

 

Fairview-University Medical Center, University campus is situated on the University of Minnesota campus, on the east bank of the Mississippi River in Minneapolis. The surrounding neighborhoods, Campus Village, Dinkytown and Seven Corners, have many restaurants serving cuisines from around the world. In the greater Twin Cities area, restaurant fare ranges from all national franchises to world-class dining, with everything in between.

Entertainment

 

Fairview-University Medical Center's location on the Mississippi River places it in the geographic center of the Twin Cities, with easy access to the two main 'spokes' of our regional highway system, north/south Interstate Hwy 35W and east/west Interstate Hwy 94. Many entertainment locales are close to the campus, and most are within easy reach.

Getting Around

Minneapolis/St. Paul International Airport is served by all major airlines. Fairview-University Medical Center is located 15 minutes from the airport by expressway. We contract with Super Shuttle, which offers shuttle services to and from Fairview-University Medical Center and nearby hotels. For rates, schedules or to make a reservation call 612-827-7777; toll free is 800-BLUE-VAN (800-258-3826).

Minneapolis/St. Paul International Airport

 

The Twin Cities area has an extensive bus system administered by our regional government, the Metropolitan Council. The council is completing a light-rail system linking Minneapolis' downtown with the Mall of America in Bloomington is under construction.
