Paying for your transplant
The costs associated with a transplant and the resources required to maintain your life-long medical care raise important and necessary questions. Staying informed about your health insurance coverage, resources or available assistance can put your mind at ease. Try to become familiar with health care coverage information and terms (click here) so you can understand your options for transplant coverage.
All transplant patients have different insurance coverage depending on their work or financial situation, yet all recipients have similar follow-up requirements including life-time medications, routine and follow-up tests or clinic appointments, and the like. Transplant financial case managers and/or social workers (click here) are available to discuss your situation and may be aware of programs for which you may be qualified.
