Living donor transplants -- used increasingly for pancreas,
liver, intestinal, islet, lung and kidney transplant patients
-- are the best options for organ transplantation. They offer
better outcomes.
Our Program performed the first living donor kidney transplant
in the region in 1963. Since that time, over 3,000 living
donors have donated whole or partial organs in our program.

Living donation saves lives. Here are the facts. The
sooner a failing organ is replaced, the quicker and easier
the recovery will be. The longer the wait, the more difficult
the procedure, and the more likely for further health complications
to arise in the interim. Check out these numbers.
